Only in SA: Taxi driver uses car phone holder for calculator

A classic example of how South Africans can be smart and resourceful at the same time...

It doesn't seem right to house your calculator in a car phone holder; it feels like something a kid might do when playing but not something an adult will do.

But let's say you are a taxi driver who encounters passengers who sometimes have trouble working out their taxi fare and the change they are owed. This would be the most practical way of using a car phone holder. Especially when that front passenger is not a math wiz...

It seems Mzansi agrees with the idea and hailed one taxi driver as a genius for finding a multipurpose use for the car phone holder.

Traditionally, this 'car phone holder' might have been where one might house their GPS device, but since that feature is built into some vehicles these days and into most smartphones, this holder needed a purpose.

In a video, we see a passenger sitting in the front of a taxi; he shares his view of the calculator housed inside the car phone holder. His post reads: "South Africa is not a real place."

In a way, we get it; South Africa, in all its might, is a place that is known for its diversity but is also known for its diverse approach to life. This is just one of those ways that depict our resourcefulness.
